![]() ![]() ![]() I don’t think many (or any) Irish people would read a story written about Ireland by someone who’d never visited, and lived so far away, but equally setting the Irish legends up abroad could be equally badly received. For example, I know I could’ve done a decent interpretation of French/Italian societies before I’d visited the countries, simply because I’d learnt so much about them beforehand.Īlternatively, you could also do something like set the story in an immigrant society (like America or even NZ) where people have Irish ancestry, and have the same story set there because they’re the descendants of whoever. You should also keep up to date on news stories about Ireland (from Irish sources), and learn as much as you can about the cultural aspects. When writing an email, make sure to keep the subject line short and concise. The formatting can be different when writing an email or when sending a hard-copy of the letter. What you want to do is a lot more than writing about place, it’s writing about a whole society, culture, language and religion you may/may not have any exposure to, along with writing about the cultural and historical past which you’d want to be extremely well versed on.Ī lot of it depends on how skilled of a writer you are, and if you choose to add slang, cultural quirks etc., how much contact you’ve had with Irish people, and how much Irish tv (particularly comedies and shows that are kindof a skit of something) you’ve been exposed to. Follow a formal formatting including date, address, subject, salutation, introduction, body and conclusion. should you try to use it, but if you’re writing for a global audience, I doubt most people would understand Irish slang. ![]() If you’re a good writer you can still write a good story, and you could always have an Irish editor try to help with slang etc. In order to write a good summary, you may have to gather minor points or components of an argument from different places in the text in order to summarize. Although I think it depends on a lot of factors, for example if you set it in the present, or a historical period (which we don’t directly know anyways). ![]()
